anyone have installation advise on installing a neutral safety / backup light switch on a 67 pg floor shift console style?
the problem is the small area that the switch mounts in is impossible to get the screws started with the shift lever in the way

Tell me about it. I replaced mine with a switch from rick's. After spending a good hour and cuting every knuckle on my hand the new switch was a lemon.

I now have it bypassed.

I replaced mine, but I had the car apart and pulled the shifter to fix it anyway, it still is very sloppy. It seems almost impossible to remove the shifter with the trans in the car because the pivot catches on the edge of the hole in the floor. It's gonna be a pain. Good luck!
