I've found two diagrams on how to wire the generator light on a 68 Camaro when using a internal regulated alternator. The one from Painless shows running a new wire from the #1 terminal on the alternator to the generator light then continue on from the light with Wire #914 to the fuse block.(although their text says the new wire should run from the #2 terminal on the alternator???) A diagram from M.A.D. pictures the a wire running from the #1 terminal on the alternator to the light, and the other one going from the light to the ignition switch instead of the fuse block. Neither say if the printed circuit should be bypassed or how or where to add the new wire into the circuit. Does anyone out there knows how to wire the light correctly? Thanks Rhat

You should be able to wire it directly off any ignition hot. The #1 terminal on the internal regulated alternator becomes GROUND when its not generating electricity. Thus the light turns on. So the light needs a hot while ignition is in the ON position at all times so that when the ground is generated by the defective alt or broken belt, the light will trip.
