How hard is it to replace the turn signal arm on a 89 AstroVan(I am pretty sure they are about the same as the 3rd gens)? The wipers work occasionaly when using the turn signals(even if it hasn't rained in 6 months) and the cruise just works when the moon is in the right phase&you hold you're mouth just right. I know that I can get a new one for under $20 but if it's going to be a pain to change, I may farm this one out. Will I have to tear the column apart?

The column does not have to come apart.

Pull old lever straight out.

Cut wires, leaving as much as possible.

Take new lever/wire and tape to the old wire that is still routed through column. Tape as securely and as small as possible, and pull old wire out from under column, and it will route new wire.

Then just push in new lever (must be in off position of course).
