Where do you connect the hot side of the wire when hooking up a under the hood light replacement assembly? Also where is the connection for the truck light assembly to be hooked up to? This is on a 1967. thanks for the help.

The underhood lamp assembly should have a red feed wire with an in-line fuseholder with it - it connects to the screw terminal on the horn relay. The trunk light jumpers into the body harness connector for the dome light near the rear seat with a special pigtail/jumper harness (Rick's has them).

So are you saying the connection for the under hood light goes to the always HOT connection on the horn relay? What causes it to turn on and off? Does it have some sort of mechanism inside the light fixture that flips on when the hood is up?

The light is turned on by a mercury switch in the light housing that makes the connection when the hood is up and disconnects when the hood is lowered. The trunk light works the same way. Just simple gravity at work.
