i got it off a van and there are 4 wires in a pod that i dont have anything to hook up to, also they are not the three that go to the top of the distrib.and dont know what they are. so i put it in my 350 anyways and there is no ignition. i have hooked up the 12v wire and the tach. so do those 4 wires have anything to do with it or is it a bad distrib??
thanx for the help

Does the distributor have a vacuum advance dash pot attached to it?

The reason I'm asking is that you may have a newer model HEI and the computer (ECM) did the timing advance. This isn't the type HEI distributor you want in terms of performance.

I believe it would work with a MSD system.
