Question

I have 3 cables on my batt:
- one neg to block
- one pos to starter
- one pos to frame

Is this reverse grounding and is it correct for 69?

Thanks!

The ground wire to the frame is to insure that the body too is grounded, for the lights. sometimes the ground to the block is not enough, as the rest of the car would have to depend on the ground of the engine. only one pos.+ wire goes to the starter. pos + can not go to ground !

Question

Why does this "ground wire" come off the pos terminal??? Could I run it off of the neg terminal???

Thanks again.

The smaller 10 ga wire from the + terminal goes to a battery junction block that should be located on the radiator support. It is insulated from the support/ground and is the main + power feed for the car.

There is another 10 ga wire from the negative terminal to a mounting point on the side of the quarter panel just behind the battery. There should also be two flat cables that attach to the firewall. They attach to the firewall just above the valve covers and to the valve cover bolt on the engine. These are very important in order to insure proper body grounding.

There are two additional grounding straps. One goes from the firewall near the passenger side frame/body mount to the frame. The other goes from the frame to one of the fender skirts - I haven't exactly figured out where this one goes, even with the pictures in the assembly manual.

I hope you didn't try to start your car with the positive terminal grounded
