when hooking up the wires to the horn relay a strange thing occurred. there is a pink wire with a black stripe on it and if i hook it up the horn relay will buzz.if i hit the horn button on the steering wheel the buzzing will quit but the horn will not work.
if i disconnect this pink wire with the black stripe the horn relay does not buzz and
the horn works fine. can anyone tell me what this pink wire does, and can anyone tell me
why connecting this wire makes the horn system malfunction. i really dont want to just leave this wire hanging because it looks kinda hokey.

I'm partly guessing, but I think the horn relay buzzing may be the buzzer that indicates that you left the key in the ignition. If you remove the key and hook up the wire does it still buzz? or maybe the switch in the steering column is bad.

That's what I was gonna say.... key buzzer. I thought the wire was just pink though. I'll look at mine and see if it's got a black stripe also and I'll check the wiring diagram too...
