Hello everyone,

I need to get a new alternator (old one is shot) I was wondering if I go with a 100amp alt would it harm my existing wiring? Will the voltage regulator have to be changed? I want to be safe and make sure Iím not creating a fire hazard. I have MSD 6al a 10amp electric fan. Please let me know what size alt I should use. Iím an idiot with wiring .
Thanks, Joe

Read through this article. Perhaps it will be helpful. Going that large it's best to change the alternator output wire.
