I purchased my 89 RS with severe reception problems. Having exhausted all possibilities from the interior, I now am faced with the actual antenna or its connections.I cannot figure out how to get at the connections or how to remove the antenna assembly. Anyone have any good advice on approaching this?
Thanks..... jeff

Not done much on a late 80s Camaro. Is the antenna located between the inner and outer passenger side fender like other 80s GM cars?

yes, I can get the mast and the top of the assembly off but the remainder of the unit is buried in sheet metal. I think I have a short in the antenna wire. I must have stared at it for an hour today trying to figure out a way to get at it
