I have a black box on my inner fender, drv side approx 2 inches cubed with 4 connectors at the bottom front at the bottom edge, only one wire ( a heavier guage red one) is hooked up, I cannot find refrence to this anywhere, anyone know what it is? The car is a 67 RS/SS...Thanks

Ok, upon further inspection, it looks just about identical to the volt. regulator, but only has one wire which comes out of pin 4 and then ties into the wire from the atenator and the double spade mount on the horn relay, this little "homemade looking splice also ties in pin 3 from the real voltage regulator front light harness. So this is the question, it seems to me this "add on" is not necessary, is that right? My front light wire harness is a mess, I have a new one but am trying to figure out what everything is and what should be there and what shouldn't.

Oh, also wired into this bundle is a wire with an inline fuse that goes to one of the headlight relays....again rigged...thinking to bypass the CB, which I cannot find.....

I have the classic ind. rs dash headlamp and console book, but I am not matching my new harness to the diagram very well, colors seem to be off some, also comparing to current harness. Anyone have this problem before? Maybe somthing in more laymens terms....3 pin plug with 2 blues and a black here or somthing like that?

Thanks..

It's your horn relay. The red wire runs over to a terminal block on te firewall in front of the battery. The other side of the terminal goes to the positive terminal on the battery. This wire is the main power connection for the whole car, and the charging lead from the alternator to the battery. It has a black and a black and white wire that goes to the horn buttons in the steering column, and a green wire to the horns. The terminal with the red wire is the main power feed to everything in the car. It is spliced to the output wire from the alternator in the wire bundle about 8 inches from the horn relay.

Thanks for the reply Mark, but I see my horn relay under my voltage regulator on the bac side of the radiator support, this box is on the drv inner fender well above the upper control arm, it looks just like the voltage regulator....identical, without the condensor looking cylinder next to it....i'm thinking past owners messed up....??? any ideas? I'm going to put in my new harness, it just threw a loop in the equation.....do you have an email I can send a pic of it I just took.

Thanks

Jerry
