Headlights? LED?

Some wiring problems have led down a pretty deep rabbit hole. Now would be a good time to put some nice bright LED headlights in. No wiring modification would be nice. Is there any suggestions on brand/model that a lot of you guys are using or like?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Headlights? LED?

A few guys on here have used Truck-Lite LED headlights...
https://www.amazon.com/Truck-Lite-27...ck+lite+27270c
a bit pricey, but they just plug-in with no wiring mods.

Do a search on here for LED headlights... there was a 'shoot-out' comparison of all the major brands somewhere.

Re: Headlights? LED?

Yeah those are the two most popular options, the relays then using off the shelve headlights, and truck or Jeep CJ based quality LED.

Some of the ebay cheaper LED headlights have real bad beam penetration so while they sip power then are worthless faster then ten miles per hour on a back road.

There are some great LED comparison videos on youtube.

I myself have not found a LED that I like yet so I still am using the repay harness with silverstar bulbs.

Re: Headlights? LED?

I have the trucklite 27270cs, no relays- plug and play. Bright lights! They are not a bolt in for RS doors though. They stick out approx 1/4" further than normal lights (housing).

Re: Headlights? LED?

I have the Truck-Lites as well. Not only do they work GREAT, they look cool as heck. Very bright white light with little amp draw. I didn't really want to spend 300+ on headlights but I'm sure glad I did. I would recommend aiming them according to the Truck-Lite specs for maximum effectiveness.

What, you think I'm driving this thing at night? LOL

Actually I have and the LEDs are night and day (no pun intended) over the stock halogens. I'm not sure how well that would show up in pics unless you were doing a side by side comparison. Maybe somebody has done a you tube video or check out the Truck Lite website for specs.

I love them. My car is black and the appearance of the lights is absolutely beautiful. It looks like these things were made for 1st gen camaros.

As far as brightness goes... I hesitate to drive the car at night, but sometimes it happens. These things light up the road incredibly well. I wasn't aware of specific aiming instructions from the manufacturer, but I used a laser headlight aimer and all seems well.

Did I mention they look fantastic? Only drawback is price. A bit spendy, but the quality is worth it.
