69 Camaro wipers going backwards - ideas?

I believe this is the original motor (had car since high school) and don't remember changing the motor or last time I tested them. when i turn them on, the wipers want to go counter clockwise and not clockwise. I have the wiper arms off and watched the 'studs' go from 9 o'clock to 6 o'clock position and return again.

is it possible that the wiper transmission is the cause? I think the wires to the motor is correct. thanks

With all DC motors you change the speed of the motor by increasing or decreasing the voltage to the motor. To change the direction of rotation you reverse the polarity of the wires (the + becomes -, and - becomes +).

I think you have the arm on the motor off by 180 degrees. When parked in the off position the arm should point to the center of the wiper hole. I am guessing yours is pointing to the outside.

Yep, that's exactly what I suspect too. The motor arm was installed 180 out of position.
