Light Bulbs ... possibly a silly question :(

I read in a thread a few days ago about someone being happy that they had gone to (I think) led bulbs in their Camaro ... made a big difference.

I am going to be installing a lot of new bulbs in my Camaro over the next short while.

I know technology in bulbs has improved in recent years.

Is there something to take note of now days regarding light bulb selection?

Right now I will be replacing my interior dome bulbs and also all my tail light bulbs (installing new harness).

Is there something new I might not know about beyond the old standard 1157 & 1141?

I can't complain, but sometimes I still do.

I got mine from these guys. You can look up what fits your car.

Re: Light Bulbs ... possibly a silly question :(

Thanks Andrew.

For tail light are the *forward firing* the thing to get or is there a noticeable advantage to the *tower* style?

I see the towers are generally brighter and of course do the 360 coverage.

How bright on the scale shown does it need to be to exceed the standard bulbs we have used for years?

At $25.00 a bulb for that second to last 1157 ... one might expect some extra *after burner* HP boost from the thing.

I can't complain, but sometimes I still do.

I replaced all my bulbs with led's and couldn't be happier. I used Digital-Tails for my tail lights and front turns. I bought my interior bulbs from superbrightleds also. For dash lights you'll need a led dimmer wired in because with the factory dimmer the lights are either on or off. I started with white led's but switched to green as I thought it looked better even though the green film is still in the dash components. You'll also need a led flasher in your fuse panel if you put led's in your turn signals to prevent hyper flashing. Led's can also be found at several auto parts stores like O Reilly's.

My rear LED lights do point 90 degrees toward the rear of the car. Attached is a list from their website of what I bought and installed. It seems some are no longer available but I trust would be replaced with something else.
Hope this helps.
