fuel gauge

What would make my fuel gauge register way past the full mark & not move .

What would make the fuel gauge on ,my'67 , go way past the full mark & stay there.?

Have you verified your float is working on the tank? It provides resistance to the gauge on mine.

Randy - Merged your two threads into one, then moved to Electrical forum. This is a very common issue and 9 out of ten time is a bad ground or sender unit.

Run the diagnostic troubleshooter that is a sticky in the Electrical forum for Failed Fuel Gauge Issues.

Run through all the steps to determine if it is sender or ground or wiring. Then post your results here and we will walk you through the fix.
