Question

Looks like this is discontinued? Can I use a recepticle from another car? What has everyone else done? I'd like to keep the stock lighter look.

Haven't had to do it yet to my 67, but I did rebuild one in an old Jeep using a new Walmart donor. The receiptacle was bad, but my lighter was ok.

Just checked on www.firstgen.com - Looks like they may have something for you.

It's the recepticle I can't get... And they are the element type, where most of the newer ones are the pop-out type, but anyway, I bought a new one at advance auto, and I think I'll try to fit my knob onto the new lighter, so it at least looks somewhat better than the el-cheapo plastic knob that came with it.

Thanks

I got my cigarette lighter housing assy with wire (part # G7638) and cigarette lighter element assy with knob ( part # 7031884) from classic industries. Placed order on 5-12-03 received in 3 days. The only thing they did not have was the housing retainer(the nut that threads from behind the dash to secure housing) Rayzor
