Unhappy Tail light problem

Hi, new person here. We have a 69 Camaro SS. Found we have a tail light problem. Of the three lights, the outside light will light for brakes and turn signal, but the inside light will not light for brakes or turn signal. New bulbs and checked ground wire. What do we check next?

Re: Tail light problem

Only the outside bulb is used for tail, brake, & Turn.
Brown for tail, Yellow for brake/Turn on Drvr side, Dark green forTurn/Brake on Pass side.
The inside is tail only - brown wire.
Middle is back-up lamp.

Re: Tail light problem

Ok, guess I gave wrong info. I thought both outer lights worked the same. Husband just agreed with you. When using parking lights, the third lamp (inner, not the middle) won't light.

Re: Tail light problem

Mary, for a regular Camaro (not an RS), having only the outer perform parking brake/turn is normal and the way it was set up from the factory. The inner lamp is for parking light only. But modern single filaments may be as bright as a brake light. Attached is a post that deals with the brightness issue, but it a bit old and the availability of #67 and #97 bulbs that fit may have changed.

I think this was the one used in my car and the example thread: Sylvania long life 67
