We need more info. Default condition for the vent doors is floor exit. Natural air flow through the heater will happen as the car is moving forward.

Does the blower work? If not, check fuse and or wiring at motor. If blower works at high speed only, could be resistor block open in heater box. No blower at all speeds, check fuse or blower switch.

Vent doors are operated by engine vacuum. Purple tubing or a black hose going into the firewall supplys engine vacuum to open/close/distibute air flow about the dash. There is also a reservior or vacuum cannister to aid in 'volume' of vacuum needed to open doors. Check to see hoses are hooked up and not cracked. Also, a diapharm (vacuum actuator) inside may be torn not directing air flow by choice.

There is another hose, or gray tubing, from firewall goes to a water valve to close off water flow to the heater core if AC is selected. Vacuum will only be at this hose when A/C is selected.

Hope this helps.
