It would work only if you disconnect the alt BAT wire from the rest of the elec system.
You would have to run a wire from the removed BAT wire to the kill switch and back to alt BAT terminal. Use a min #8 wire for both runs.
If you still have the external regulated alternator, you could wire in the kill switch to the field, blue wire, and kill the field, thus, disabling the alt. Alot less current to be handling than the alt BAT terminal. This is providing the kill switch has a second pair of terminals.
