Removing aftermarket tach and console gauge wiring

Guys looking for help. Have a 69 BB auto that came from the factory with right pod fuel gauge, console, no gauges. Someone installed OEM tach and gauges with aftermarket harness. I want to take the tach and gauges out. Need to know where the wires go that are near the fuse box heading into engine compartment.

Thanks, Doc.

Re: Removing aftermarket tach and console gauge wiring

Doc - If it was done using the standard factory replication, following the attached in reverse should get you what you want. It is for manual vehicles but if I follow you right you are only looking for the firewall bulkhead connector and fuse panel side of it to unwire the tachometer signal wire, the ammeter battery gauge and to reinstall the GEN light circuit, OIL and TEMP warning lights through the connector?

Re: Removing aftermarket tach and console gauge wiring

In a perfect world, you should just be able to unplug the console gauges, disconnect the tach and figure out where the previous plug was for the fuel gauge. Did they just plug and play with the gauge pod, or did they do all new wiring under the dash? If it looks like it is going to be a lot of effort, I would just get a new underdash wiring harness. I think they are about $150, maybe someone on craigslist is getting rid of one.
