I put in a new wiring harness and used the hei upgrade, Then I switched to a mallory unilight dist, I have power on both sides of the coil when key is on but no fire from the coil. I have even switched to try another coil that I had laying around and I get the same. Both coils have been around the garage for awhile, so one might not be any good but both? I am thinking I have something eles not right. I have the starter wired right.

Unless I'm way off base here. there should only be power to the + terminal of the coil. The - post should be connected to the distributor which is the ground for the coil. If your reading voltage to ground on both sides then the wire to the dist isnt connected.

I found the problem, I switched the modulater in the distributer and I am back in bussiness. It must have been shorted in side. Thanks
