69 cowl induction wiring

So I finally got motivated enough to try and get the flapper to open and close when I floor the gas pedal. First problem I ran into under the hood was missing terminal ends where the harness plugs into the solenoid and relay. Out comes the soldering iron and after about an hour, problem solved. Key on, jumper at the switch connection, nothing. Check for power & nothing. Double check repair work & all looks good. Move to under the dash annnnd.....someone had cut the leads off that are supposed to go to the ign and ACC terminals on the fuse box. Check terminals with key in run position and have power at both. So, my question is, seeing that someone cut both connectors off, and both terminals are hot in the run position, would it work to solder both harness wires into one and then connect that to either ign or acc as both are hot in the run position?
Thanks!
