RS Headlights 1967

Looking for help with my headlight doors. They both open but only the right one closes. I replaced the diode but it didn't solve the problem. Any ideas? Thanks

Re: RS Headlights 1967

Does it close when you touch it ? Usually a loose wire or poor ground on one of the switches .

Re: RS Headlights 1967

Check that the ground wire coming out of each switch has a good ground to the switch mounting bracket.

Re: RS Headlights 1967

You also might remove the relay board on drvr fender behind headlight bolted to fender and unplug/plug each relay connector for getting a better contact between terminals and relays.
My question is: Are relays hot to the touch after driving for over 15 minutes?
Mine are hot enough to fry an egg on.

Have you confirmed the door limit switch wires are in the correct order?

Re: RS Headlights 1967

Below is a link to a troubleshooting guide that will assist you. The relays mentioned in the link are still available at AutoZone for about $7 each. Hope this helps...
