My factory tach in my 69 SS has a "sluggish" needle. It doesn't respond as crisply as the engine is changing RPM's and it doesn't go back to zero (goes to about 300) but if I tap the glass it drops to zero. Can I "rebuild" it or at least free up the needle? What wre your thoughts?
Thanks,
John

Whether or not you can rebuild your tach is totally your call. I know that I wouldn't attempt to rebuild mine.

Try this link for tach repairs:
