Just a quick note on replacing the resistor wire in my 69. I installed a "Dave's small body HEI" distributor in my new 383 and I replaced my original resistor wire with a high temp white cloth insulated wire that I bought at the local appliance parts store. It matches the original wire pretty close for looks and if I remember right it was less than $5.00. I haven't started the new engine yet but I have no reason to believe it won't work fine.

I replaced my resistance wire with one that will give me a full 12v. which is what I need to run the HEI distributor. I only got my replacement wire from an appliance parts place so that it would look like the original resistance wire.
