I am having a real problem with my turning signals working only when they want to, and then when they do work they are constantly blowing fuses. I have traced wire, after wire, after wire, after wire and this problem just simply does not want to go away. One of my buddies suggested that maybe the turning signal switch itself is bad and I should replace it. I found one on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1876283925 but it is only for steering columns that tilt, mines doesn't. Has anyone ever replaced this part before? This is something that I am VERY inexperienced at, So before I go and start ripping things apart, what method would you guys recommend

I've never been a big fan of replacing parts before I KNOW they're bad. Disconnect the horseshoe looking plug at the bottom of the column, use a test lamp and check the function of each wire. If you're blowing fuses you probably have a bare or pinched wire in the circuit somewhere.

If you find it's a problem with the switch, these are common parts. Any resto house should have it. Why go E-bay.

Once, as a green DIYer, I ran the screws for the cover through the wire harness on my 68 Camaro. The turn signals acted like you describe.

Thanks guys. I went to the autozone website and they do have the switch I referred to, But like you guys said, I'm gonna do a little more digging around before I start spending money on something I might not need.
....Thanks
