1969 Dash Lights LED Conversion question

I have done multiple searches and can't seem to find what I am looking for. I swear at one time, I saw someone selling a package with all lamps etc needed to convert all lights in a '69 interior to LED. Now I can not find it. Does anyone know about this? Or have a list of what bulbs to use (number, color, angle etc) to convert dash, console, dome to LED? Are the plug ins? Or do I need to switch sockets?

Thanks
Bill

I used the above company to change over all my dash lights, console lights to LED. Use the drop down box's to find your make and model and the site brings up all the LEDs for your vehicle.

Thank you! I knew it was out there somewhere! Did you do all whites and use the lenses for the color, ie: blinkers etc?

Buy the color green LEDS for the correct look on the gauges and instruments.

Started the install of the lamps I picked up from superbrightleds.com. Very happy with how they are looking.

So, did you get the 'Green' colored LED's?? . . .

Looks nice.

I'm currently in the middle of replacing my under dash wiring harness...
it would be a good time to do this LED conversion, too.

Yes, I did all color bulbs to match the lenses. Green for green, blue for the high beam, red for the charge etc.

Ooooooo…. Thanks for reminding me, as I had totally forgotten about the high-beam indicator lamp. It's BLUE?
(I guess that I haven't used it enough to know for sure.)

Bill-
What LED replacement did you use for the Heater Control Panel?
I bought this #1895 replacement...

BA9s LED Bulb - 5 SMD LED Tower - BA9s Retrofit
Part Number: BA9s-xHP5-CAR

...from www.SuperBrightLEDs.com
But I can't seem to get it to work in that socket!?!

Re: 1969 Dash Lights LED Conversion question

I understand that this is a older posting.

1. I was recommended and bought two BA9S-WWHP5 for automatic console shift from SuperBrightlightled. The lights come on but the lights don't fit into the light bulb mounting plate. Have anybody used these for your car?

2. I bought one led BA9S-WWHP5 for heater light. It fits but the light won't turn on. A regular bulb works.

3. I got another one for the glove box and haven't tried it out yet.

Rotate the LED bulb in the socket. Sounds silly, but LED's appear to have a "+" and "-" lead. I've had this issue before, and rotating them in the socket has made them work.

Never argue with an idiot; they'll only drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Yes I tried that. I'm curious if anybody else has LEDs in the heater area and console. The console lights up, but they don't fit into the mounting holes.

Re: 1969 Dash Lights LED Conversion question

Word to the wise:
Even when recommended part and description SAYS it'll work in our car sockets, on occasion they will not fit.

I bought (SuperBrightLEDs.com) marker/turn signal LEDs for my 68 RS and no matter how hard I tried, could NOT get them to twist into place in a stock socket. (I even filed down the bottom contacts to better match a stock bulb - no go)

Ended up solving my issue by buying LED replacements from AutoZone (Philips brand I think) They were more expensive, but at least they fit.

Re: 1969 Dash Lights LED Conversion question

Thanks for the help. I got a LED to work in the heater area. Waiting on different LEDS for the console. Now I'm having a problem with the under dash courtesy lights LEDs. I bought two from SuperBrightleds. 1156 LED Bulb - 18 SMD LED Tower - BA15S Base. The LEDs turn on, but they get really hot and have blown fuses. Now I'm looking to find different ones.

I noticed another person on Team Camaro used 67 LED Bulb - 15 LED Forward Firing Cluster - BA15S Base for their 67 Camaro. I'm curious if they would work in a 1969 Camaro?
