69 camaro dash/console gauges questions

working on a friends car and need help please. Car is a 69 rs. He bought new dash harness and console gauges with new harness, All new ! My question is there are a couple of wires I cant figure out where they go .I included a picture, hope it helps? The plug has three wire hooked to it Pink ,brown and black wires. The black must be a ground because it has the eyelid for a screw/small bolt to ground it and the plug has all three wires going to it. The brown wire somehow somewhere goes somewhere on the fuse box? also the one picture I included has a single pink wire that must get pushed in to a connection block some where .Any help would be much appreciated!

I think that plug looks like the heaterbox plug.

Thanks for the reply.. No its not part of the dash harness , its coming off the Console harness. Sorry I should have mentioned that! The console harness had three wires that go to the fuse box that needed to be pushed into the fuse box so they would work with the engine harness. The Black with white strip , all black and this one brown wire which I cant figure out where it goes. The black and black white stripe wires I figured out but not the brown one that's in the picture. The brown wire in the picture is connected to the 3 wire plug in the same picture . so where ever the one goes to the other should be self explanatory .I hope any way. thx

All of the plugs in the console harness are pretty self explanatory. Is it a low fuel warning harness? If it is, and your gauge pod is not, that's your answer I would figure. They are closed now, but the AAW tech department is very helpful. Just give them your number off the bag it came in. Its much faster that way.

Re: 69 camaro dash/console gauges questions

Turns out he bought from Classic which is AAW, the 69 Camaro A/T console shift factory gauges and the console harness which is the console gauge conversion harness. The plug I am talking about here must be the conversion console harness having its own wires going to the tach. Why would that be when the dash harness already has a connection for the tach? Does he not need the conversion harness and just the console harness?
FWIW my friend had a shop do all this work and It looks like crap so I took it all down and I am trying to install the correct way!

It is the "Low Fuel Warning Light Indicator" harness. Not needed if you don't set up the low fuel warning light.

He bought the CA6905 conversion kit. The plug goes to the tach, and the black wire goes to ground. Pm me a cell # and I can send you pictures of the instructions.

You can do a simple Google search. Of the part number instructions , easy to read, and in color. It shows a picture of your connector.

Re: 69 camaro dash/console gauges questions

thanks x-77 for the help! Your right. What confused me was my friend ordered the dash harness with tach. So when I had two hook ups for the tach, that confused me!!

That is odd that he did that. I guess the console gauges were a second plan. As long as it works all is good I say.
