maiden 67 Camaro Voyage haulted by weird turn signal

Hello all... New member to the site and new to restoring / refurbishing cars. I HATE ELICTRICLE PROBLEMS!!! Ok, here is the skinny. Went to take my car on its first road drive after getting it back from paint and putting it back together. I thought well, better check all lighting. headlights and front lights in grille work, went to rear and the left light was on, but no right light. After jiggling it around, it came on, so I went to the turn signals. Left signal worked good front and rear, right signal worked on front, but BOTH lights flashed on rear, along with my instrument cluster lights flashing as well. Quick recap, I did install a new flasher under the dash, it was a 552 which I later found out that that is the one that is supposed to plug into the fuse box. Am going to install a 536 under the dash when I get home.
Now, I am really bad when it comes to electrical problems. But please let me know if I'm heading in the right direction when I'm thinking it is a bad ground on the right tail light?? The car has all original wiring, with the exception of me adding in a floor console wire harness, as the car was originally a column automatic shift.

Thank you very much in advance

Loren

Re: maiden 67 Camaro Voyage haulted by weird turn signal

Yes, grounds are important.
The flasher on fuse panel is for emergency flashers and flasher in clip on dash is for turn signals.
So the clip flasher should be the 552.

Give a man a rescued dog for the health of both their souls. May 2017 ROTM Winner - Thank you!
