69 Factory style tach question...
Hi folks, I installed a factory style repro tach in my "non-tach" 69 X77 car SBC with MSD box and it seems to read OK at idle but high on the higher RPM's.
I had an aftermarket tach in this car before and it seemed to function properly.
The tach I installed was from my yellow car so I know it worked fine for 16 years or so in that car with factory tach wiring and unilite distributor.
So the question is.....What should the voltage be at the power wire for the tach out of the MSD box?
Or what would else could cause this issue?
BTW, the 302 is being built this winter but curious to this issue at the moment!
