Reverse Light Switch

Can someone tell me where the reverse light switch is on a 68' SS Muncie 4 speed? I don't see any wires going to the transmission nor shifter.

Thanks!

Re: Reverse Light Switch

The switch is mounted on the transmission (see attached) and the cables run up to the FIREWALL CONNECTOR ("Backup light hole 67 & 68 only").

If you have a Hurst shifter, the reverse switch actually mounts on the shifter. The rear stop holds it in place.

The reverse lever in the picture bertfam posted is a Hurst part. It came with the hole for the factory 1967-68 reverse light linkage drilled. I know this because it's my transmission in the picture.

I prefer the factory switch over the Hurst switch. Connecting the factory switch to the Hurst reverse lever is a piece of cake.

I drove it for the first time in 1972 when I was 15.

Better looking than a '56 Ford or Plymouth.

Re: Reverse Light Switch

If you have no Firewall Connector to plug in the wires from the transmission, where can you find the Plug-in? Would it be mounted on the steering column like some photo's show.

Yes, check out the AIM, UPC 12, sheet C2 for more information.
