Arrow Dash lights inop.......

Weird. '67 RS/SS hideaway lights. A few nights ago I went for a ride. Dash lights and console gauge lights were working just fine. Went for a little cruise tonight and when I pulled the light switch to the on position the dash lights never came on, but the console gauge lights turned on just fine. Fuse? If so, where? Yes, I did a search and came up short on info here.

Re: Dash lights inop.......

The headlight switch has a built in dimmer. Could be that it is turned all the way down. Or it could be the ground on 67 and 68 center pods are a notorious weak link.

To see if it is the dimmer, turn the knob on the headlight switch clockwise all the way and you also hit a "click" that will then turn on the interior dome light(s). All the way to the right before the click and the dash lights will be at their brightest. All the way to the left and no dash lights. As for the console, sounds like its lighting is not on the dimmer circuit, but if you get the console lights dimming as you turn the knob then I would look at the center ground on the instrument cluster next.

Brian, thank you. Yes, I'm aware of the dimmer and tried that, just forgot to mention it initially. Console gauge cluster dims or brightens up as it should with the turning of the knob.

The first "sticky" thread in this forum (electrical) describes the dash ground
and suggested fix. Check it out.
