Wire Identification help

Can anyone identify this Blue wire with plug on my 68. It comes out of the firewall wiring harness and runs under the wiper motor. It's not for the wiper, so I'm hoping it is the Manual Trans Reverse wire that I have been looking for. Thanks

Yep. OEM oil pressure sending unit that screws in to the left (drivers side) of the distributor, back side of engine block. Most folks replace the OEM oil pressure sender with an aftermarket one that uses a different sender for an oil pressure gauge, instead of the 'idiot light' in the speedo cluster driven by the OEM oil pressure sender.

Chances are that the engine temp pressure switch has been replaced (and its wire; green I believe) with a sender that too will operate a gauge rather than the temp 'idiot light'. In the same wiring connector, you should find that wiring connector tucked away as well perhaps.

Never argue with an idiot; they'll only drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Re: Wire Identification help

Thanks for the help, never thought it was for Oil pressure. Makes sense now, I do have a Oil Pressure Gauge ran inside car.
