Under the hood light black bulb

On the 1969 Camaro the under the hood light is mercury activated at the base of the bulb holder, is this correct? If so what is the black bulge on the wire, is it a fuse holder?

My 69 didn't come with one, but my guess would be a quick disconnect. Looks like it is hardwired and not a plug in type...in case the hood is removed?

Thanks for the quick reply; that sounds reasonable a quick disconnect.

Re: Under the hood light black bulb

The 'bulge' is an inline fuse holder.
