Electric RS Kit

I purchased the electric RS headlight kit from Classic Industries (not the DSE kit). I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to test these without using the main harness. I am concerned as one of the motors doesn't make the little gear whine like the other and I want to make sure they open and close properly before I go too much further. This is a link to what I purchased:

Frankly, I am not overly impressed with the kit since the headlight buckets, motor arm and motor didn't fit well at all and required quite a bit of trimming of the radiator support to sit correctly. Either way, if anyone knows how I can test I would appreciate it.
