Factory tack and gauge pack question

Ok... I know its prob. Silly but i want to add a factory tach and gage pack on the console of my 67 camaro and will be using a 250 6 cylinder.

Would these work? And would i need anything special to use the tach on the 6 cylinder?

Someone other than me has got to have done this???

re: Factory tack and gauge pack question

I believe a factory tach for an 8 cylinder will be off if used on a 6 cylinder.

re: Factory tack and gauge pack question

It should work with the RPM's. Red line would be off. . . . .but so what? Are you going to have duel exhaust as well?

re: Factory tack and gauge pack question

I think an inline 6 cylinder engine would produce 3 pulses per crank revolution whereas an 8 cylinder would produce 4 so that would make the tach reading be off by 8.3%.
