Question rear brake light trouble

I need help with left rear brake light - Works fine until right turn signal on - at that time brake light goes out until right turn signal is canceled. Could this be related to turn signal switch? I traced brake wires into turn signal switch.

Make sure the rear tail lamp housings are getting the necessary ground. In my case, I welded a piece of wire to the lamp socket, and routed it to good known ground. I was ****ed by dimmed tail lamps and other faults.

Make sure you have the right bulbs in the socket, they should be model 1157.

Re: rear brake light trouble

If the brake and tail lights are working properly the problem is not a bad ground. When you turn on the left blinker the switch disconnects the brake light signal from the circuit and connects the blinker signal. It is quite possible you have a bad turn signal or hazard switch.

Does the front turn signal and dash indicator light up?

Do your hazard flashers work?

Better looking than a '56 Ford or Plymouth.
