Question fan switch?

hey guys i need some help with hooking up a switch for my electric fan. i have a painless harness in the car and they have a wire for the fan that goes to the fan switch but i dont know how im spose to hook up the switch. also wut kind of thermostat switch are you guys using so the fan will come on automatically. wut i want to happen is that the fan will come on automatically but also have a manual overide in the case of a failure.

Painless sells the part(s) you need. Check with them, you may only need to purchase the switch that looks like a temp sensor and threads into the intake or block. They sell a kit for the purpose with a relay, switch and breaker. Complete with diagram. I dont know how much of this came in your basic harness to begin with. Only contacting them or going over their diagrams will answer those questions.

I can't see them having any wiring in your new harness for this purpose unless they knew you were going to go to an electric fan. Your stock motor setup, thus the wiring harness, would not have had a need for any of this in original mode. Odds are you should get whole kit.

If I were to do another one, I would use a temp switch and a relay and call it a day. But since you are completely "painless" you ought to stay with their program to save future headaches.
