Alternator issue

I have a battery quick disconnect on the car and today when I was done working on the car I reached over and unhooked the battery, The car died instantly. I am thinking either I knocked a wire loose somewhere or the Alternator is shot.

Is there an easy way to check the alternator?

I checked voltage at the battery and it was 12.25. With the motor running I am getting the same. If I check voltage at the post exiting the Alternator , I get 12.22...
This is not a stock setup but a 1 wire alternator.
HELP!!!!

Re: Alternator issue

Easiest way to check an alternator is take it to your local auto parts store. They should have a test bench they can spin it up on and tell you what is wrong with it. But before you do, see what the voltage is between the negative battery post and alternator shell. Should be darn near 0 volts. If not, you've got a bad ground to the alternator case.
