No fire 87 Camero 2.8

This car has set for 12 years.
The batt is fully charged and I hear the fuel pump and can smell fuel
I have checked all the grounds and I have power to the coil and to the bottom of the distrib.
I have pulled a plug and turned it over with no spark at all.

When I turn the key on the I have a brake light and check eng light.
No other lights come on like oil press or temp ect, the ful gauge does move.
Should I get dash lights?
Rats have lived under the hood for a while with some damage to wires.
The manual was not avalible and im not sure if the fuse block has the right fuses.

I would like to know where I could get a diagram of the fuse block on the net.

Also any ideas on why I dont have fire and how to trouble shoot?

I can pick this car up for $500.00 but Im wondering if its worth it.

Thanks for your help

$500.00 won't teach you how to spell Camaro....

With a testlight, while cranking, check for blinking at the white wire on the coil.

If it doesn't flash, remove distributor cap and check for broken wire(s) from the pickup coil to the module.

Could be either one of those. Replacing the module would be a good thing to do if the wires are good.

No Fire 87 Camaro

First, I learned to spell CAMARO.

Next

I found that the distrib was sevearly corr when I removed the cap.

I used a rotory tool to clean all contacts.

I replaced the cap still no joy.

I am no going to check for the blinking light from the white wire. Wait for help

Could this severe corr burned up the coil or the mod?

The corr under the cap is severe, can I replace those parts or would it be a dist

Thanks

Don,

Thanks for the help.

I did have pwr in through the white wire to the coil.

Also I had pwr to the bottom of the distrib.

The only thing I have not changed is the pick up coil and Im not really shure whre it is or how to remove it.

Again thanks for your help

Tom, no need to start another post on the same problem, I merged the two together.
'fraid I don't have an answer for you, but this will bump it back to the top.
