Interior electrical

I have and 84' Camaro. Its a Z28 with the 305 H.O. and air conditioning. For some reason my interior light, power mirrors, rear hatch unlock, and power locks quit working. But my power windows, seat, and the dash lights still work. I have inspected the fuses and they appear to be good. When i took the ACC fuse out then the power windows quit working too. My heater core is leaking lots of antifreeze on the floor but i'm going to attempt to change that this weekend. Could the antifreeze have shorted out some wires? Any idea's? Thanks

Re: Interior electrical

Years ago my daughter 85 camaro had a similar problem and it was the cigarette lighter. Replaced it and the problem was solved. Might be what you need to do. Good luck Pete

Re: Interior electrical

you both are describing a no power in the CTSY not depend on visual inspection of fuses! use a test lamp (this provides some load on circuit) Does the lamp light on both legs of fuse? yes-fuse ok /one leg only? replace fuse.
no light? (make sure light works!) no power to fuse

Re: Interior electrical

Aren't the power door locks on a seperate circuit? I can't find the loose pages out of my 83 manual to be sure, (I think the 83 is 90% identical to the 84)

Re: Interior electrical

When i think of it now the cigarette lighter will spark if you put the lighter in it, however you could still plug accessories into it and they would work. I haven't tried it since the the stuff quit working though.

I will try the fuse test this weekend.

I'm not sure whether the locks are on the same circut or not. I got the same problem with missing pages in my manual. Thanks for the input.
