Angry 89 iroc nightmare

i have a 89 iroc. car starts for 15-20 mins. but cuts off as if someone turn key off but will start back up. it only does this at sudden stop such as red lights, or stop sign. the service light is not on nor there are no codes coming up. when the car cuts off fuel pressure are still up. could this be in the ingition switch?

Re: 89 iroc nightmare

Could be the ignition switch, could be a short in the wiring to the steering column. Try running the car in your driveway and start moving around wires that go to the steering column as well as ones that run under the hood. Hopefully you will trigger the cut off. If your car has tilt, try moving the wires when the steering wheel is in various positions.

It's impossible to have a valid certificate of authenticity without verifying that it is not a rebody.
