Optima, hands down. I just replaced an Optima red that was 9 years old, they're worth the extra dough, my new one was about 125 dollars!!!

Optmia it is!!! This is what I was thinking about, but just wanted to check to see what everyone else thought. I think the Optmia will help the looks under the hood also. I am in the middlw of an engine upgrade as far as cosmetics goes and will post before and after pcitues when completed. Thanks for the input!!!!

Re: Which battery is best?

Optima is by far the best deal! My personnel expierence is that I had the charging wire on the back of the alt. break off and I drove 64 miles, makeing 3 stops and only then did it slow down enough to show a drain during cranking but ran all the way home. My vote is defineately an Optima!

Re: Which battery is best?

When I first saw this Thread, I wanted to be different and say Interstate. I found out that Optima and Interstate are the same company. So I will say Optima.

Re: Which battery is best?

If you don't drive the cars much, the Optima Yellow is nice,..but either Optima is worth extra expense.

My second choice is A/C Delco.

Re: Which battery is best?

I had a Yellow top Optima in my Jeep for 5 years (still there, but sold now to my brother) and it was used for winching, as well as running lights and a decent stereo. Never an issue with that battery. I will likely get one for the 67 when the time comes.

Re: Which battery is best?

I'm ready to buy a battery, also. What are you guys using to hold down the Optima batteries? Can you use the factory clamp at the base of the battery? thanks

Re: Which battery is best?

Optima red is what I use. I took the clamp supplied by optima and turned it up side down and used a longer bolt to screw into the factory battery tray.
