underdash harness question

Is there a way to convert my underdash harness to an underdash harness for console gauges and tach? I'm putting gauges in my 67 and I would like to avoid spending $350 dollars (Rick's catalog) on a new harness. Especially since I have to buy 3 other harnesses for the gauges and console yet.

Re: underdash harness question

There is a conversion harness you can buy. It requires a bit of work to wire it into the existing harness. You need to splice in a lot of wires. Someone tried this on my car before I got it and they ended up butchering everything to the point that I ended up replacing all the harnesses. I got the instructions with my car for the kit and can fax them to you if you want to shoot me a pm. The issue wan't the kit so much as the person who tried to do the install.

I used Factory Fit wiring and everything worked perfectly. You may want to contact them at www.factoryfit.com They were the guys that make the conversion kit.

In terms of the tachometer, I believe the curcuit board on the guage cluster is the same with or without a tach. All you need to do is swap in a factory tach and you're good to go.

Re: underdash harness question

I actually just downloaded their catalog and the conversion is $93.00. They are different for manual trans vs auto and if the shift is on the column or the console. Check out page 9 of their catalog

That fax would help a lot. I'll send a message with the number.

Re: underdash harness question

Hi. We just got our new Factory Fit Catalogs in. If you want one - go to our website and click the "request catalog" button at the bottom of each page.

Or, like mentioned above - you can download it onto your computer from our website, too.

Either way, I'd be happy to help.

Theresa - I'm going to order one of your catalogs too. Just finishing up my 67 Camaro RS and starting a 71 Lemans Sport. Your wiring and support is top notch!!
