Bypassing netral safety switch?

I want to bypass this darn neutral safety switch. Can someone tell me how to do it so my old camaro will start finally without spending more money on it.

Re: Bypassing netral safety switch?

hmmm, some details would be nice? Your sig mentions 2 68 4 speed cars. original 68 4 speed cars had no ignition safety device at all. 69's had a clutch safety switch. If yours are converted from automatics, you'll find the switch bypassed (poorly) in the console somewhere. Your looking for 2 big purple wires, 1 with a white stripe.

Use a jumper wire between the two purple wires.

67 RS Camaro 327/ 350 Holley 650cfm > Edelbrock Performer Intake > Pertronix Ignition > Accel Super Stock Coil and Wires > Hedman Hedders > Hotchkis Performance Springs > 15" Rallys all around

Re: Bypassing netral safety switch?

Thanks I will do the jumper on the old girl. My 68's (built October of 67) both have neutral safety switches. They are unrestored and now the parts are going bad finally. Not much fun when you get somewhere and your classic muscle decides to not start because of a neutral safety switch.

I appreciate the help.
