Glove Box install of am/fm/cassette/cd system

I finally finished installing my new (to me) Pioneer system to take the place of the still remaining am/fm one speaker system that was stock in my car.
I got both parts on ebay for less than $100 total. The am/fm/cassette unit fits nicely in the glove box leaving room for papers and flashlight. The 6 cd cartridge player hangs under the dash right below the glove box and doesnt hit the wife's legs. Measured twice
The Cd player needed a frame to hang from so I fabricated an aluminum L bracket system. Its attached to the face of the heater box with 3 Wellnuts, the front of the alum frame goes inbetween the dash panel and the glove box trim where I also grounded the units. The glove box has 3 holes in it. One for power cords and some future speaker wires, 2nd for master wire plug and a 3rd for the wires to the Cd player. I also attached 2 steel cables to the am/fm unit and ran them to the wellnut area to help deter any theft.
What an improvement over the stock one speaker system. Chicago/earth-wind-fire never sounded so good in a car.
Hope this gives folks some ideas on their own install. First pic is final look, other links are to the progress pics.

Looks nice, but I'd put that changer in the trunk. I would be worried about what might happen to your wife's legs in a frontal accident.

Her legs would hit either the dash metal or stereo, so we talked about what would be worse, she said the plastic might give more

Just wondering why you would not mount the changer in the trunk? Thinking that your weather might play a part in that? I have seen them mounted on the underside of the package tray in the trunk. What is you deck mounted in? Looks like it might be a box that goes in a boat? It all looks pretty sano though and no wire hanging all over and sturdy too !!

Re: Glove Box install of am/fm/cassette/cd system

I thought about trunk mount but then you have to open the trunk to change the cd cartridge. I built the frame myself out of alum. stock L bracket, explained in my lengthy opening post. Needed a after laying on my left side for hours and hours, not for older folks for sure
