Horn Relay Problem

I'm just finishing my 68 restoration, put fuses in the fuse block, hooked up the battery, and the horn relay/buzzer started buzzing with the driver door open but no key in the ignition. When I put my key in the ignition and turn it on, the buzzer goes out. Seems to work the opposite of what it should. It should not buzz unless the key is in the ignition and the door open. Anyone have any ideas? I may have wired the horn relay incorrectly but it's a new wire harness.

Re: Horn Relay Problem

in the "What it is, Where it is" sticky at the top of electrical, there's pics of a 68 horn relay, properly wired.

It is controlled by a switch in the ignition switch, along with the drivers side door switch. I'd check the door switch first. It should have 2 female spade connectors each with a wire attached, the white one is the courtesy lights, the other the key buzzer, and an insulator between them. If the insulator is gone, that would cause problems.
