Fan switch for elec fan

I have an electric fan and a relay. Now all I need is a way to turn it on...I would like to use a sensor that screws into the head. Like a stock fan switch. What do I tell the auto parts guy. (year, make)

Re: Fan switch for elec fan

If you're just looking for a temperature switch, as in lighting a high temperature warning light, ask for the temperature switch for a 68 Camaro without gauges.

However, the above switch will be too high in temperature to turn on the fan. If he has a Standard Parts Book, any auto electric repair shop will have one, look in the tech section and compare the physical mounting of the switch, ie, pipe thread size, temperature to come on, etc., and look further into the section for same physical mounting at a lower temperature.
