Tic Toc Tac Install

I have the tic toc tac and the correct circuit board. I now need to install it in my 68.

Do I just install the tac with the new circuit board and it will work? Or do I need to wire it too?

(I know I need to drill the lens for the clock adjustment knob).

Re: Tic Toc Tac Install

you will also need to install a tach lead from your coil.what did you do with the fuel gauge? this is another issue you will need to address.meaning console with gauges etc.........

Re: Tic Toc Tac Install

The tach signal wire was run separately from the top center stud of the tach to the neg side of the coil. That wire does not exist in the dash harness, the factory ran it separate.

Did you get a "guage type" dash harness or a conversion harness?

As compared to a non guage dash harness, the guage harness:
Does not bring the fuel sender wire in.
Does not bring the oil idiot light wire in
Does not bring the temp sender wire in

And brings in the following that are not present at all in a non guage dash harness:

Low fuel
"battery +12v" for the clock

If you have a non guage harness, you should be able to follow the runs on the tach style pcb and determine which pin needs to have battery +12v.

Note that as I modified my standard pcb and harness, I've not studied on the factory dahs guage harness wiring. They may have moved some signals at the dash connector.

Sorry I never finished it, but in your last post, I did put up the pin numbers, wire colors, and functions for most of the non guage cluster connector wires.

Re: Tic Toc Tac Install

Thanks to both of you.

I will be using a non-gauge harness and can run power to the clock and a tac lead to the coil. It sounds pretty simple to do.

Jim--I will rely heavily on what you have posted on the install and try to get it in this weekend.
