Race Car Wiring

I would like to know how the wiring goes to a race car. Its a chevy starter with a ford remote solonoid on the fire wall. I have a toogle switch and the push button. Not sure how it all works together. The distributor is just a HEI stock.

Re: Race Car Wiring

The "toogle switch" would supply power to the ignition and the pushbutton switch. The push button switch would supply power to the Ford solenoid, which would then engage the chevy starter solenoid and start the car.

Re: Race Car Wiring

On my circle track cars, I had power to both the toggle switch (ignition) and the push button switch (starter). That way you could crank the motor without the ignition switch on.
