67 RS L/S headlight motor removal.

Well they were both working just fine the other day. R/S headlight motor works fine and the L/S just quit. I reached my hand around the L/S radiator support and felt the motor and it was extreamly hot after I opened and closed the headlight switch about a dozen times. I going to assume ( I hate using that word Felix Unger ) that the motor is bad. Can I get a quit lesson on the removal of the motor. I hope this doesn't involve the removal of the fender.

Thanks in Advance,
David Brecher

Re: 67 RS L/S headlight motor removal.

It's been a few years since taking one apart, remove the grill then there is 2 bolts thru the core support and one to the bracket on the fender holding the headlight assembly in place.
Disconnect the wires and remove as a unit and remove moter on the bench. Check your limit switch first if it did not engage the motor will not operate. And it may be a good idea to test the motor before removing from the car(run direct voltage and ground to motor wires) to be certain it's not a circuit/wiring problem.
